[Topic Series: All About Usage]

Description

This is an in-person event open to both buyers and sellers of information.

Buyers of information resources and sellers of information products and services have a shared need to understand when, how and why content is used. Yet it's rare to find buyers and sellers in alignment about how to report usage, let alone understand its value.

And this misalignment is heightened by the fact that today's organisations want to use information in far more diverse ways than ever.

This Communities of Practice session brings buyers and sellers together for in-depth discussion about what "usage" looks like today, and in the future, and how both sides of the commercial relationship understand and value usage. We'll discuss:

  • Different models for understanding the value of information and its use
  • Challenges and opportunities for collaborating more closely on usage data
  • Trends in usage and what usage is likely to look like in the future
  • The role of technology (especially authentication) in usage
  • Licensing models that work (or don't) in the face of changing usage

As a closely-facilitated, confidential environment, this Communities of Practice offers an unmatched opportunity for buyers and sellers to better understand each other's perspectives and plans.

Strictly limited to those with a FreePint Subscription at the Community level or higher; limited seating in each event. In-person attendance only.
