Talking to customers and people who are considering taking out a Subscription is one of the favourite parts of my role. I love hearing about people's roles, the projects they're working on, and how they're turning to Jinfo to help them find information more easily. If you haven't yet joined one of the regular walkthroughs, please do sign up. These live sessions are very interactive and it's great to hear your feedback and get to know what's on your wish list.
A Jinfo Subscription is a great way to access content on sources and tools, find out about new products and gain insights on issues and strategy through our original research. Below are some of my highlights from September:
- Article: Coverage of the premium subscription products for news is always a topic of interest, whether you specify or consume news and current awareness. In "Comparing product satisfaction for Factiva vs Nexis users - 2018", Jinfo's director of research, Robin Neidorf, dissects the data from our recent survey and highlights aspects from technology features to desired changes to the products.
- Report: Wide Narrow is an interesting product, generally falling within the competitive intelligence field but specifically designed to support the work of intelligence teams, through improved workflows. In our recent "Product review of Wide Narrow", researcher Scott Vine comments that it is "deceptively simple". He said it could improve "productivity and output for both experienced and new intelligence teams".
- Webinar: "Shedding light on how to measure value" was the topic of September's webinar - offering a bumper number of delegates the opportunity to see how our benchmarking research can help you better align information work with business goals. We also discussed how to develop metrics which are meaningful - not just those that are easiest to measure!
Our regular programme of webinars offers superb at-your-desk learning. Attend the 60-minute sessions live or catch-up at your convenience. For sessions since January 2018, the decks and speaker notes are also posted online. - Community session: Our focus on benchmarking dominated two Community sessions in September; one looking at our benchmarking research through a finance lens and the other through a manufacturing lens. Download the deck and speaker notes for the Community session, "Benchmarking for your sector (finance)" or read Sam Luton's key takeaways from the session from his perspective as an information manager in an investment firm.
Join us for live, confidential, facilitated Community sessions where we discuss topics relevant to key roles and allied to subjects in our Research Focus. Find our list of upcoming sessions here. If you don't yet have Community on your Subscription and would like the opportunity to attend a session, contact me for a taster invitation. (Please note that all new subscriptions include Community - the option to have Content-only has been phased out.)
