Content (Articles, Reports, Webinars)
- Working with IT in an ad hoc way can lead to misunderstandings, but taking a more structured approach can lead to a better working partnership. Co-producer of our current Research Focus, "Strategic Alignment of Information Services and IT", Steve Bynghall, explains more in "A More Structured Way of Working with IT"
- The digital workplace is a concept that’s gaining ground and could enable a closer partnership with IT, as we found out when Steve interviewed digital workplace thought leaders Elizabeth Marsh and Sam Marshall in "What Does the Digital Workplace Mean for Working With IT? Views From Thought Leaders"
- Steve also interviewed two experts about who should be leading the digital workplace and how it will impact on departmental relationships with IT in "Who's Leading the Digital Workplace? Further Views From Thought Leaders"
- Continuing on the theme of effective working relationships between IS and IT, Helene Jewell explores the possibility of bringing in an external facilitator to pave the way for more productive and harmonious meetings in "The Role of the Facilitator in Effective Meetings"
- In a recent Jinfo webinar we heard from Amy Davis, global knowledge and master data leader at LORD Corporation, on how she maintains a strong relationship with IT. You can read more about her experiences in our "Case Study - LORD Corporation Forges Close IS/IT Relationships".

Consulting
One Consulting-level customer has planned their key projects for 2016 around major corporate initiatives. One of these initiatives is a focus on the organisation's global elearning platform.
Because the information centre wants to support end users in doing a better job with their self-service research and information needs, they've asked Jinfo for help to develop and implement a four-part elearning programme on basic information skills. The four parts will cover:
- What's available
- How to ask (and answer) a good research question
- How to know what you've found is sufficient
- When you really need to ask a specialist.
Completion of all four modules will enable the user to add credit or in-house certification to his or her personnel file.
Because of the corporate focus on the elearning platform this year, the information centre can piggyback on existing marketing and outreach efforts to promote the resources.
If you're thinking of developing or enhancing training resources for knowledge workers or information specialists, Jinfo can help. Contact our director of research, Robin Neidorf, on robin.neidorf@jinfo.com.
Our Content is the broad platform through which we publish research-based insights. Community provides the environment to discuss them with peers. Consulting tailors the insight to your needs. Find the right Jinfo Subscription level to meet your needs.
