Abstract

In her article, Sophie Alexander highlights the key differentiators of four well-known market research vendors, including the type of content, publishers, search features, account options as well as geographical and language coverage.
Item
With so many online market research providers available it can sometimes be confusing knowing which one will best meet your information needs. This article focuses on four well known Pay As You Go market research vendors, following recent FreePint research:
- Industry Report Store
- MarketResearch.com
- ReportLinker
- Research and Markets
They cover a wide range of industries including biotechnology, life sciences, manufacturing, energy & transport, consumer goods, business & finance, media & entertainment, food and beverage, telecommunications, and government - as well as offering a wide range of company and country reports.
With global coverage and some reports being provided in languages other than English, there is almost certainly something for every research need.
Only Buy What You Need
However, the cost of some of these reports can be prohibitive and sometimes you only need a specific section of a report. The full research highlights which vendors allow you to buy-by-the-section.
One of the better-known product offerings in this area is MarketResearch.com's Profound service, which has a separate dedicated website where users can purchase full reports, sections, charts, graphs and tables. With more than 820,000 research reports from around 200 publishers this is definitely worth considering.
Advanced Search Functionality
The article also gives an overview of the types of publishers available, search features, what information you can access before purchase and account management options.
All vendors have a user-friendly basic search interface with further drill-down filters but only a couple offer advanced search functionality which may be more useful for those who know exactly what they're looking for.
Licensing Options
Vendors offer their products via a either a licence or an account, catering for most information needs. For example, larger organisations usually have a more sustained need for market research and have more users so a yearly subscription may be better for them. Others may prefer self-service access based on daily or monthly usage, or Pay As You Go premium reports.
Whether you're an organisation or an individual, the articles and handy comparison tables will help you to understand your options when thinking of making a purchase from one of these market research vendors.
