All About Usage - From Content Sharing to Data Mining
July - September 2015
This Topic Series examined what usage of information resources looks like today, and how it is changing:
- Nearly every information manager copes with basic questions about whether Content X can be shared by one person with another. And similar numbers field questions about this thing we call "big data" and how it relates to data licensing and purchase value.
- Meanwhile, vendors, developers and aggregators struggle to keep up with technology developments, serve customer needs and grow sustainably.
We ask questions both big and small: What do users want to be able to do with information? What is possible to do with information, and where are the barriers to achieving it?
As experts on sources and the role information plays in adding value, information managers need to secure a place at the collaborative table for their organisations' usage strategy. This Topic Series serves as a critical platform for building that knowledge in a practical yet strategic way.
