Market landscape - translation software and services
Jinfo Report
23rd March 2020
Abstract
In this market landscape, we look at eight of the most relevant machine translation tools available:
- SDL Trados Studio - Gengo
- memoQ
- Smartcat
- Memsource Translate - Memsource
- Mars Translation
- GlobalLink Connect - Translations.com
- Microsoft Language Portal - Microsoft
- Transifex.
Although machine learning and AI-driven products are very popular, especially for translating software, documentation, and natural language content, human translators should not be written off just yet. Many platforms still offer translator marketplaces and boast thousands of translators in their networks. A brief description and explanation of key features of each translation product is outlined, with additional information on typical users, geographic scope, and pricing. Typically, these tools are geared towards translators and localisation experts.
