Abstract

This report complements recent articles on Natural Language Generation tools and key vendors:

"Providers of NLG services apply their algorithms to structured data to identify and extract key elements, then use a template-based approach to link together those elements and generate textual content that makes sense to a human being," as Chris Porter explains. "Until recently, most implementations have been custom-built; however, over the last year or so, tool providers have been launching supposedly self-service software solutions."

The market landscape covers six vendors operating at the leading edge of Natural Language Generation:

  • Arria (Arria NLG Platform)
  • Automated Insights (Wordsmith)
  • AX Semantics (AX Semantics)
  • CoGenTex (Chart Explainer)
  • Narrative Science (Quill)
  • Yseop (Savvy and Compose)

We provide a brief description of each company and their product/s, a link to the website and product page, examples of customers or use-cases, key users, languages covered, pricing, and a link to Jinfo coverage.
