Abstract

This monthly update collects the current content relevant to those responsible for information service management, information strategy and content procurement in a convenient PDF package for download and offline reading.

Includes:

  • Product Review of Key Note: Executive Summary
Market report publisher Key Note was acquired by Alistair Pauline in 2009. Its strategy subsequently has been to broaden its content and functionality, positioning it firmly in the business intelligence tools area. Andrew Grave investigates how successful Key Note has been in achieving this goal.

  • Product Report: CODiE Finalists - Best Science and Technology Information Solution
Three products were named to the final round for the CODiE category of Best Science and Technology Information Solution. All three demonstrate understanding of the workflow and content needs of researchers that require scientific information. FreePint reviewers provide a good look at Safari Books Online, Udini from ProQuest and Infotrieve's Mobile Library Rx. Only one can take the CODiE, but all three deserve kudos for excellence.

  • Product Report: CODiE Finalists - Best Legal Information Product
The CODiE Award for Best Legal Information Product saw four very different legal products gain finalist status, each demonstrating particular strengths for discrete areas of information work. FreePint reviewers put each of the finalists to the test: IA Watch, Lexis Advance, Web Preserver and Workshare. There's only one winner but all offer significant benefits to legal information professionals.

  • Source Update
