Abstract
Scopus was created in 2004 by Elsevier, one of the world's leading providers of science and health information, in conjunction with over 300 individual users and librarians worldwide. It is claimed to be the "the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, with smart tools to track, analyse and visualise research". Scopus is one of Elsevier's search and discovery database products, and contains over 19,500 journal titles from more than 5,000 publishers around the world, covering the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences as well as the arts and humanities.
