Abstract

By Robin Neidorf

Today's knowledge environment is replete with business news content from a wide variety of sources. Web-based news sources (both free and paid-subscription), company sites, industry association resources, content aggregators and even old-fashioned print materials are all part of the mix that content portfolio managers can acquire and make available to their constituents.

FreePint's VIP publication often reviews news aggregators. Since mid-2010, VIP has published Reports on Products on six news aggregation products. Each of these products reflects the priorities and customer base of its vendor, and it is always difficult, if not impossible, to conduct true "apples-to-apples" comparisons between products. However, on certain product dimensions, such as number and type of sources, search languages, output options and others, FreePint Research has compiled results into a tabular format so that comparisons can be more easily made.
