Getting Information Skills Development on the Strategic Agenda
Jinfo Community
25th June 2015
Description
Does your organisation have and cultivate the information skills needed for the future? How about for the present?
Developing Effective Information Skills
FreePint Research has uncovered a worrying gap in organisational strategies: it is essential for all knowledge workers to engage in quality interactions with information to be efficient and innovative, yet hardly any organisations seem to have information skills development on the agenda.
There is no measurable plan for helping knowledge workers be more effective in their interactions with information. There is little forward-looking planning for understanding what skills need to be in place for the workplace of the future. And there is hardly any awareness of the risks thus created.
Plug the Information Skills Gap
This Communities of Practice session offers information managers the opportunity to brainstorm around these risks and develop plans for ensuring information skills development is higher up the organisational agenda.
We'll discuss:
- Latest research on the information skills needed by organisations in the future
- Which stakeholders to prioritise when starting the dialogue
- The additional information, case studies, data and arguments required to move the conversation forward.
In addition to worksheets and checklists provided during CoP sessions, FreePint Research will follow up these sessions with a tool kit to support you in developing and acting on a plan to drive discussion in your organisation.
Communities of Practice are open to any organisation with a FreePint Subscription at the Community level or higher. When your registration is approved, you will receive details to attend the session.
