Abstract
Businesses benefit most from source expertise when they can directly influence strategy and critical decision-making of the organisation. Source expertise helps to reduce risks for the organisation and can create value for all business outcomes. In this article we cover three approaches that help information professionals position their source expertise within their organisation: communicating risks associated with content/sources, building allies with other departments, and setting up content advisory boards.
