Abstract
Failure, we all try to avoid it, but sometimes through no fault of our own, it can rear its very ugly head. When it comes to social media projects in particular, defeat can be something that is encountered all too regularly. But with many companies having seen the benefits that using social tools have brought their competitors and peers, the pressure on information and knowledge managers to implement these tools can be extreme. Implementing a social tool is a difficult process and there are many different issues to consider to ensure success - James Mullan identifies some of the most significant challenges.
