Abstract
Fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) may be leading enterprises to rely too much on technology for security protection and to ignore proper risk management, says Gartner. War games like the recent London investment bankers' simulated cyber attack may be helpful in encouraging greater information sharing on the possible threats. But as recent reports from Thomson Reuters, the Economist Intelligence Unit and FICO show, focusing on lax board practices, outsourced business partners or employee education about password protection and social engineering scams are a vital part of the mix.
