Newsbites for Media Snackers: Delivering Facts to Mobile Users
Jinfo Article
10th July 2013
Abstract
A new report on mobile news reading habits of consumers in Europe and the US published by Mobile Republic, the producers of the News Republic news app, makes for interesting reading and confirms the inevitable when it comes to news consumption: social media usage and mobile devices have turned us into "news snackers", dipping in and out of news sites several times a day to read bite-sized news updates. However, readers still go to traditional news outlets to "top up", proving that publishers need to deliver news via multiple platforms to capture their audiences.
