Plan for 2016 now.
Does that seem premature? Not if comments from our customers are an indicator.
Many who budget and work on a calendar basis take a breath halfway through the year to reflect on progress to date and start to lay plans for the coming year.
In large organisations, the information centre is already assembling a preliminary budget. The staff know they need to be ready in September for more detailed conversations, so that they can get full budgets approved by the end of December.
Add to these circumstances that many organisations that are experiencing growth, changes in leadership, restructuring, or July 1 fiscal year starts, and suddenly this is a very fertile period for strategic thinking.
But don't make those 2016 plans without considering the big issues facing our industry. The following upcoming FreePint Webinars offer research-based perspectives as well as practical actions you can build into your future plans:
- Setting Strategy with FreePint Research: A 30-minute overview of the 3 biggest issues we believe face our industry today, our predictions for the future of information work, and how these insights feed our Topic Series and coverage of Sources, Technology and Value; 15th July
- What We Learned about Information Skills Development: The top findings from our most recently completed Topic Series, where we see the biggest risks and opportunities, and what you can do about them; various dates in July and early August.
