Abstract

This year's Perfect Information Conference focuses on "the future of information". Jinfo's director of research, Robin Neidorf, is co-chairing the event and highlights what the event will bring to attendees.

With collaborative technologies improving all the time, we can get more done from our desks than ever before. Quality learning and discussion opportunities can be had on a wide variety of topics - not least of which are Jinfo's own webinars and Community sessions. It's a great time to pursue professional development at any level of your career.

At the same time, some types of experiences require stepping away from your usual work environment, to think clearly and strategically about what's coming, what's working and what habits it's time to let go of. Strategic thinking takes a creative, stimulating environment, and a break from day-to-day distractions.

That's why I'm looking forward to co-chairing the upcoming Perfect Information Conference, taking place from 16th-18th May in Luton, UK. The theme is "Focus on the Future of Information", with sessions on everything from working with millennials, to big data projects, to master data management.

The team at PI do an exemplary job of selecting and honing themes, building the agenda around the needs of the audience, and creating an environment that's equal parts executive retreat and summer camp. The past several years, when I've attended as a speaker and delegate, I've used the event as a touchstone for the rest of the year, returning over the following months to the ideas, notes and connections made during those two days in May.

We Look Forward to Seeing You

As co-chair, my goal is to bring Jinfo-esque components to the experience, including:

• Checklists, tools and takeaways that enable delegates to apply the concepts of each session to their own environments

• Connecting research with real-world experiences through follow-up commentary and resources

• Quick coaching for customers on how they might apply learnings from the conference to their 2016 plans.

I'm pleased that Jinfo's managing editor, Catherine Dhanjal, will be attending as well. She and I will be blogging, as well as collecting ideas (and contributors) for future Jinfo content. Our efforts will be best aligned with your needs if you help us focus on the ideas and sessions that matter to you.
