Abstract
Eikon is the flagship desktop product from the financial division of global business information provider Thomson Reuters, offering high-quality content along with easy-to-use analysis capabilities and workflow tools. Last reviewed by FreePint in 2013, Chris Porter's latest review focuses on the product's enhancements including more integrated access to content assets aimed specifically at the financial services "buy-side" community.

Our new review of Thomson Reuters Eikon, by analyst Chris Porter, concludes "The vendor has brought together many high-value content assets that were previously separate, and has overlaid them with intuitive and visually attractive analytical capabilities". Eikon contains a vast range of data and information, including company fundamentals, macroeconomic data, portfolio benchmarking data, broker research reports and Reuters and third-party news and commentary.
Analysis for the "Buy-Side"
The newer version of the product is aimed specifically at the financial services "buy-side" community, comprising institutions such as investment management firms, mutual funds, pension funds, insurance firms and others involved in the process of asset management.
Organised around groups of content and functionality, Eikon offers a "powerful combination of data and analytics" and offers extensive alerting, exporting and sharing options.
