Abstract

The business intelligence market is shifting towards contextual searching across single content hubs. EditorEye is one such platform and our reviewer, Sophie Alexander, scrutinised this cloud-based knowledge management solution. We look at what Sophie found most compelling.

FreePint Topic Series: All About UsageAccording to new research by AIIM, only 7% of businesses currently perform contextual searches across external sources. At the same time, the business intelligence market is shifting towards an "Uber for BI" concept and knowledge workers are looking for solutions to access all their content, without it being "siloed" across several different sources.

Sophie Alexander recently reviewed EditorEye's cloud-based platform (available now to subscribers) which allows knowledge managers to bring together external and internal information sources into a single content hub.

As an experienced researcher and regular reviewer for FreePint, Sophie has road tested many content management platforms. She found its bespoke "top down" client-controlled taxonomy to be the platform's key strength, allowing integrated search and analytics across all sources.

Users can pull in a variety of sources including:

  • News sources
  • Press releases
  • Premium industry and trade publications
  • Social content
  • Internal enterprise content.

EditorEye then filters it all to deliver intelligence that is aligned to enterprise business objectives.

Knowledge managers can use the metrics to gain a birds-eye view of content consumption across the organisation, helping them to manage subscriptions. EditorEye is also particularly useful for:

  • Monitoring competitors or market trends
  • Identifying new sales leads and prospects
  • Marketing or compliance.

As Sophie mentions in the introductory section of her review, EditorEye comes from a publishing background so it has a clear understanding of the content needs and working practices of its target audience and are clearly responsive to those needs. The curation, analytics, and end user distribution tools means EditorEye can be customised to fit each individual organisation.

In her overview of value, Sophie points out that "EditorEye would be a useful addition to any organisation with a need for relevant content to help with key business decision-making actions".
