Abstract
Find out more about the complex and huge oil and gas global markets from clean tech and energy information specialist Mirjam Wolfrum - and why they demand a specific approach to research.

When we think of oil, we think of the OPEC. When we think of natural gas, we think of Russia. But this by no means meets the status quo of these two industries.
The US overtook Russia as top oil and gas producer, oil cartels seem to weaken, and prices are set by global demand, especially increasing in Asia and India. And while the oil and gas industry is researching more effective technology and future exploitation sites, people and their political representatives have to decide if they want the last huge reserves, such as in the Arctic, to be tapped.
As researcher Mirjam Wolfrum explains, while industry experts would easily forecast price developments some years ago, it seems more and more difficult today.
She's just written an article for FreePint called "Insider Knowledge - Researching Oil & Gas" to provide subscribers with essential information on the markets, the main players and interest groups. She also identifies the key publishers of industry reports and analyses, of statistical material and economic outlooks.
Mirjam comments, "The traditional structure of cartels has been replaced by a systemic imbalance, characterised by increased supply and receding demand growth. This development comes from economic weaknesses, tougher regulations, more forms of energy production and more energy-efficient engines."
Through her company, CleanTech Information Research, Mirjam specialises in working with organisations with a governmental, academic or non-profit background in the energy and clean technology sector.
FreePint Subscribers can login now to read the article "Insider Knowledge - Researching Oil & Gas" where Mirjam's specialist knowledge highlights internet resources where you can find access to financial market data, to policies and regulations, detailed global exploitation maps and specialised commercial information providers, as well as information on transparency and environmental impacts of both industries.
