One of my personal guidelines for the usefulness of a presentation or workshop is this: can I make at least one specific, practical change as a result of what I've learned here?
I have no doubt that one of the most useful sessions I've ever participated in was a short workshop on improving communications with IT, presented by Ben Summers and Jennifer Summers at a conference two years ago.
Simple Changes to Improve Understanding
I came away with more than a single practical change: the session completely changed the way I interacted with IT professionals, with tremendously positive results on technical projects and relationships since then. In 45 minutes, Ben and Jennifer helped me understand exactly what I was doing to annoy, irritate or confuse IT staff, and how I could make simple changes to get those interactions and relationships on track.
Since then, I've been chasing them to present a FreePint Webinar to share their insights. The demands of running ONEIS, their thriving business offering information management software and solutions, have kept them from being able to do so until now.
Join Our Webinar on 21st May
Improving Your Connection, Communication and Collaboration with IT is scheduled for 21st May at 4pm UK time - enabling us to accommodate participants from the Pacific Coast of North America across Europe.
