Item

Content (Articles, Reports, Webinars)

The end of December saw us wrapping up a number of reports in the the FreePint Topic Series "News, and Beyond"

We're also in the process of publishing chapters in a product review of LexisNexis Publisher (introductory chapter here), with the rest coming shortly.

Also in the final bits of this series are discussion of copyright concerns and requirements relating to news content, and the concluding editorial by co-producer Chris Porter. You can see all the content in this Topic Series here, and you can still register to get two free reports.

January sees the start of our next FreePint Topic Series "Making Information Visible", which runs through March 2015. We have a robust calendar of content planned, under the leadership of co-producers Martin White and James Mullan. Read about our perspective on what we mean by "visibility" and register your interest to stay informed over the next three months on all resources relating to this series.

Community

With the New Year starting, we're starting to finalise the calendar for Communities of Practice for the first half of 2015. As always, we'll be planning CoPs around current and upcoming Topic Series.

However, we've also identified a need for peer-to-peer dialogue in specific industries, to help information managers work on the challenges and opportunities unique to their environments.

The first of these is a February teleconference CoP session for information managers who work in government agencies and similar environments. We'll be discussing strategies and tactics around the specific challenges of these environments, including bureaucracy, fixed budgets, political influences and more. If you work in a government agency, you won't want to miss this opportunity for frank discussion and problem-solving with peers.

Watch for announcements about similar sessions for consultancies, finance, manufacturing and more. If you have suggestions for topics or industries to cover in this format, please contact Robin Neidorf, our director of research, at robin.neidorf@freepint.com.

Consulting

As information managers worked to close the books on their 2014 budgets, several came to us with requests to upgrade their accounts to the Consulting level to use remaining funds and take advantage of the 6 hours of one-on-one consulting time included in that level of service.

As a result, we're kicking off several new projects in 2015, including:

  • In-depth work on vendor management, with an aim to understand and communicate the value of each contract in the portfolio
  • Coaching of information staff during their participation in a corporate-wide project on "the digital workplace", to ensure their expertise is best utilised in the process
  • Peer review and research support around diverse needs for news and current awareness in a multinational organisation.

Upgrades can be pro-rated to your current subscription renewal date or organised around your budget periods. If you have any questions about consulting services, please contact Robin Neidorf, our director of research, at robin.neidorf@freepint.com.

Find out more about a FreePint Subscription, which at the Content level gives access to all FreePint articles, reports and webinars, at the Community level gives access to all FreePint Communities of Practice (as well as all FreePint Content), and at the Consulting level adds a credit for up to six hours of annual consulting time.
