Abstract
StrategyEye Digital Media is a global business intelligence platform serving senior executives in the telecom, media, technology and investment sectors. The product is used by corporate and investor clients and provides authoritative, filtered and pertinent content related to corporate deals such as M&A, VC funding and partnering activities, and covers more than 25,000 companies in over 200 industry categories.
Item
StrategyEye Digital Media's content is global in nature with companies from over 150 countries being covered.
Two elements of the product that seem especially worth noting are their own tech industry categorisation with their own Industry Map, and the variety of ways that content is available depending on the depth of data needed.
Industry Mapping
Their Industry Map uses categories and hierarchies that are flexible enough to capture newer, innovative technologies as well as the more traditional tech segments.
For example, while enterprise software, broadcasting, and telecom might now be considered fairly common topics for products to cover, coverage in segments such as wearable technology and connected devices and the "Internet of Things" allow them to cover technology disruptors and start-ups in the industry.
This is especially important in the VC funding arena where investors need to be aware of trends and movement in newer technologies.
Curated Information Plus Original Research
Secondly, the product doesn't just provide curated information from scanned online sources such as newspapers, magazines, social media announcements and online feeds, it combines its own editorial commentary, analysis and primary source interviews with the results of that indexing.
Executives may choose the depth of information they receive at any given time.
For example, it's possible to view a relatively simple list of M&A deals, or VC deals, where companies, funders and dollar amounts are identified. However, more in-depth and supporting information on the nature of the deal, companies and investors involved, can also be found in articles and interviews.
Articles, grouped as Insights or Market Data, are written by in-house staff on topics related to industry trends and activities providing a larger context and analysis for the deal listings, or providing data on market size and forecasts. Interviews of top executives are also included and tend to cover tech topics from their own specific perspectives.
The value of this product comes in many forms, including its timeliness, authoritativeness and depth in combination with the ability to search, view, customise and package results from a user-friendly interface.
