FreePint Subscription Update: What's New and What's Coming
Jinfo Blog
6th May 2014
Abstract
FreePint renames its subscription levels to make the names more intuitive. Find out what's new and upcoming in each of the subscription levels: content, community, and consulting.
Item
After hearing from customers that the names of our levels of the FreePint Subscription could be more intuitive, we've given a lot of thought as to how we could address that and have renamed them:
- Content is the new name for Professional, which gives access to all articles, reports and webinars
- Community was called Team, and provides access to the Communities of Practice
- Consulting was Enterprise, and includes an annual credit for consulting time with FreePint research.
You can read more here about the benefits of each level on the Subscription Order page.
Content (Articles, Reports and Webinars)
At the end of each month, we collect together all the articles, tips, reviews and commentary in the information services management Topic Category into a convenient single PDF report called the Subscription Update for Information Services Management; click to download the latest edition.
Recent reviews provide insight into a couple of innovative offerings:
- RelSci turns relationships into a science and covers 3 million executives globally. Our review digs into the source content, then explores the technology in two parts: first, the search capabilities and second, the overall interface and user experience (including mobile capabilities)
- Infotrieve Mobile Library gets the full-review treatment. The full report can be found here, and our reviewer's analysis of the value proposition offers a useful overview of the application's best uses and efficiencies
- Coverage of social monitoring tools continues with a mini review of CisionPoint.
If you're interested in competitive intelligence, you won't want to miss this announcement about the launch of the FreePint Topic Series: Next-Generation Competitive Intelligence, produced by Mary Ellen Bercik.
Mary Ellen's commissioned an excellent set of articles, and we're in the planning phases for a FreePint Webinar within the series as well. When you register your interest in the series, you'll always be notified of the most recent content, plus early notification about webinars.
A FreePint Subscription at the Content level gives access to all FreePint articles, reports and webinars.
Community
We've had the first sessions in the three-part series of Communities of Practice (CoPs) on understanding, communicating and measuring value, and as I write I'm in the final stages of planning the next in-person session (London, 13 May) on the same topic.
I've had requests to offer this session in Boston, Chicago, Amsterdam, and other cities - put in your request for a city near you through our contact form, and I'll do my best to make it happen.
The FreePint on Eventbrite page has links to register for all upcoming CoPs and webinars. You'll note that some are labelled "Buyers", some "Vendors" and some "Buyers and Vendors". To enable participants to get the most value and feel comfortable with frank discussion, we sometimes restrict sessions to particular types of participants.
A FreePint Subscription at the Community level gives access to all FreePint Communities of Practice as well as all FreePint Content.
Consulting
More than one participant in the CoPs on Value has decided to turn his or her experience into a bespoke consulting project. As we emphasise in the sessions, value depends on context.
I'm planning site visits for these customers to work through the variables together, then provide additional coaching as they develop and implement strategic plans on setting and informing the corporate agenda for "value".
A FreePint Subscription at the Consulting level adds a credit for up to six hours of consulting time per year. Email me at robin.neidorf@freepint.com if you have a consulting project in mind, or are considering upgrading to the next level.
If you are considering starting a new FreePint Subscription, see the overview video and order form.
