The recent FreePint Topic Series: Compliance in Context highlighted the challenges organisations face in meeting compliance requirements and managing risk as they do business with companies and individuals around the world.
A particular difficulty is how to get to grips with information that may be openly available, but is not in a language with which you or your team have a good grasp.
Emerging Markets Focus
The Arachnys service is a research tool focused on emerging markets. It combines highly targeted open-source content with smart use of technology to help organisations manage their business risk without necessarily needing to seek expensive outside assistance.
A relatively new name to the market, Arachnys was founded in 2010 with backing from venture capitalists based in Cambridge in the UK. It is run by an energetic and passionate team based in London, led by a former Control Risks consultant.
The service searches over a highly focused set of over 16,000 sources, including extensive local-language information.
Navigate Local Language Sources
Additionally, it has in-built features to help you navigate your way around the local-language content you find and see at a glance whether it is really important to you.
When you enter a search string, you can specify that you would like it automatically translated into another language or languages – including languages with completely different character sets – so that you will retrieve results that also match the local-language versions of your term.
Automatic Translation & Proactive Suggestions
When you run your search and article result snippets are displayed, an automatic translation into your language of choice will be shown alongside the original local-language text.
You want to run an "adverse news" search, with a string of negative news terms, but you don't know what the terms should be? Arachnys has already provided you with a set of pre-translated search strings, grouped by language and even tailored to frequently occurring topics.
You master another language and you don't need to see a translated version? No problem – the preferences area of the Arachnys service lets you turn off automatic translation for that language, so you can focus on the original text.
