Abstract

The opportunity to discuss key challenges and issues in a confidential environment with peers across other industries offers great possibilities for thinking differently about working practices, technologies implemented and plans for the future. FreePint's Communities of Practice now offer those opportunities in-person as well as in teleconference. Four in-person sessions are running in January and February 2014, covering critical issues around the future of news delivery in your organisation, such as understanding and measuring return on investment in news, and how best to educate senior executives on content distribution and cloud storage of news resources.

Since introducing Communities of Practice (CoP) in 2013, I've had the pleasure of facilitating confidential teleconferences for peer groups on such topics as changes in news providers, mobile content deployment, and measuring value of information products and services.

We're now taking the concept a step forward, by offering in-person CoP sessions in selected cities in January and February of 2014.

New Ideas for News: Beyond Aggregation

Changes at Dow Jones have prompted information managers to think differently about their current news aggregation solutions, what their organisations are willing to pay for, and what new possibilities exist for delivering news to users.

The resulting conversations go far beyond Dow Jones customers to influence the direction of delivery of news (regardless of provider/s) to users and the impact of news awareness on operations, risk and the bottom line.

Join peers in a hands-on workshop to support:

  • Internal discussion about which providers, for what value, and why
  • Your meaningful contributions to cross-departmental discussions about technology, news content and user requirements
  • Understanding and measurement of return on investment in news
  • Education of senior executives about related topics like content distribution, cloud storage of news resources, and authentication.

Each session will include 90 minutes of collaborative work, plus time for open discussion and networking.

Request a Location

If you are not near one of these cities, consider inviting FreePint to your town for a session. As FreePint's Director of Research, I welcome the opportunity to support your local community of practice, networking group, conference or professional development sessions, and I regularly travel throughout North America and much of Western Europe (other locations will also be considered).

To request another location, or to enquire regarding other topics your organisation or group may find useful, please email me directly at robin.neidorf@freepint.com.

I look forward to working with you soon, in a city near you.
