FIZ Karlsruhe released an update of its automated full text brokerage system FIZ AutoDoc turning it into a complete workflow management system. The updated system offers customers enlarged access to scientific publications, research reports, patent documents, and company information as well as better and clearly structured assistance for navigation and administration. It can be accessed in various ways including corporate intranets, a web portal or from within databases via the STN Full-Text Solution. With this update comes along a set of new partnerships such as with the American Chemical Society (ACS), the ETH Zurich, Elsevier or the Thieme Verlag and last but not least Reprints Desk, Inc. The latter partner enables the immediate access to DRM-protected PDF documents without the need to install additonal plug-ins. This is important as the PDF-format has been re-established as the default delivery format. For delivery in PDF, the format "IMMEDIATE" offers a new, accelerated access via publishers. Completed is the system update with a redesign and restructuring of the STN International online service. The service is jointly operated by FIZ Karlsruhe and Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS). The new website provides direct access to the database online service via different user interfaces; it also offers extensive information material: topical news, database descriptions, workshop manuals, presentations, search tips, etc. Resources: FIZ AutoDoc - http://www.fiz-karlsruhe.de/fiz_autodoc.html STN International - http://www.stn-international.comAbout this article
