Gales seeks to provide via State Papers Online almost 3 million pages of correspondence, reports, memoranda, and parliamentary drafts from civil servants and provincial administrators, and intelligence reports from foreign ambassadors. The collection offers a vivid portrait of the British monarchy, internal strife, and religious conflict, as well as details of daily life and events across every level of society.
