Historically, there was always a divide between those who worked with current, or ‘real time’ data, and those who worked with historical information. Information professionals tended to restrict themselves to the latter, while the IT people looked after the former. Fortunately, the recognition that information managers are capable of managing both is gaining momentum. One of the challenges has been finding tools that explain the market data sector (for that it what we are talking about) in a way that avoids the technical jargon. It has always been a source of information on the global players in the industry and one of its key strengths is its in-depth profiles of specialist data suppliers, including those which cover niche sectors and sources.
