comScore acquires M:Metrics comScore expands into the mobile market. With the acquisition of M:Metrics, announced on May 28, comScore acquires adds 180 customers to its 950 customers and achieving market leadership. With the acquisition the comScore product portfolio grows by three measurement products: 1. MobiLens is a syndicated monthly online survey that captures overall mobile phone usage of a representative sample of more than 40,000 mobile device users. 2. MeterDirect is an on-device meter that passively measures the mobile Internet behavior and media consumption of more than 4,000 existing Smartphone panelists on more than 280 device models. 3. M:Ad is a mobile ad tracking service that continuously monitors clickable display advertising. With this move, comScore adds further value to its product portfolio of measurement tools for the digital world, and is now able to support wireless carriers, telecom equipment providers, media companies, advertising agencies, online publishers, and marketers with valuable insight for their market entry into the mobile internet world. More importantly, comScore gains a huge cross-sell opportunity, on the one hand for its products sold to M:Metrics' customers, and, on the other hand, for M:Metrics products sold to its existing client base. Thus, the company expects positive effects of this acquisition for its financial performance already in 2008. M:Metrics' revenues are currently forecasted to be in the range of US $11 million to US $12 million for 2008, contributing around US $7 million to comScore's 2008 revenues.
