Abstract
Last month, Malcolm Coles looked at the rise of search engines and their impact on finding online information in context. This month, he turns his lens on five social media sites (Twitter, Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon and Delicious) to explain how they can make sharing that information easier.

Last month, Malcolm Coles looked at the rise of search engines and their impact on finding online information in context. This month, he turns his lens on five social media sites (Twitter, Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon and Delicious) to explain how they can make sharing that information easier.
Odd though it may sound, there are many respected people in different industries who spend 5 minutes per day sending Twitter updates (tweets) about interesting content they've seen. By 'following' the right people (i.e. receiving their tweets), you'll discover new content quicker than any other method - and find out people's reactions to it.
