Several publishers have been in the press lately with authors claiming they neither gave permission, nor received payment, for their content being licensed for GenAI.

Information managers have always been at the forefront of IP and copyright risk mitigation and there is a heightened reputational risk that IP owners might target buyers of these services.

Jinfo recommends a proactive approach by incorporating mitigations as part of your supplier due diligence and contracting processes.

Our article "How can you mitigate the risk of infringing authors’ rights with GenAI?" provides analysis and the practical actions you can take to mitigate this risk at source. Read

Another long-recognised risk is eavesdropping Internet activity

Now a new vendor is using AI to process vast amounts of eavesdropping data to "predict" corporate actions.

This is a wake-up call for information managers to review the security of your connections with third party content providers.

Read the Jinfo report "Eavesdropping risk-mitigation plan and vendor case study" for our 12-point action plan to mitigate this risk. Read.
