Liz Hawkes
Liz Hawkes manages the EMEA Research Services at Reed Smith. Based in London, the department also serves the firm"s offices throughout the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Asia) and she also works collaboratively with her colleagues and counterparts in the US offices.
Next year will mark her 40th anniversary of working in libraries. She started her career in academic libraries, as a trainee in Birmingham University Library, moved into the public sector while she had a young family, and for the last 20 years has worked in law libraries, starting at the Law Society Library, and latterly in city law firms.

Liz Hawkes manages a research team for a global law firm and provides us with a list of her favourite tipples, both those she uses for client work as well as a personal favourite: the Invisible Woman blog from the Guardian, dedicated to style and tips for ladies over 40. In a professional context Liz chooses sites covering marine shipping, hard-to-find overseas company registration information, old government documents and one which will automatically monitor webpage updates so you know, for example, when progress has been made on cases or legislative documents.
